Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vlado Jovanić is permanently employed at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska as Chief Inspector and Deputy Head of the Directorate for Police Support. He has been working at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska since 1999.

Since 2007, he has been engaged as an expert teaching associate and lecturer of practical classes at the Police College of the Ministry of the Interior in Banja Luka, Department of Law (Criminalistics), in the following subjects: Organized Crime, Intelligence and Security Activities and Services, Criminal Strategy, Methodology of Investigating Property Crimes, Management of Special Investigations, and Criminal Intelligence Analysis.

Vlado specialized in Criminal Procedure Law at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies of the University of Virginia, USA, and in Strategic Leadership at the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBI NA) in Quantico, USA, Class 267, in 2017.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at “Slobomir P University FZBZ” in Banja Luka, where he lectures in Police Law, fourth year, and Criminalistics, second year.

Vlado is a member of many domestic and international associations in the fields of law and security: IACP, International Association of Chiefs of Police, USA; FBI National Academy Associates, USA, European Chapter; IAK, International Association of Criminalists, Banja Luka; Advisor to the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers Global Solutions, Dallas, USA; and EUNAT EUROPOL.

As a representative of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, he has participated in numerous international conferences and has been a member of many international projects in the field of security integration, including MONEYVAL, CARPO-CARDS and PERICLE. In his work, Vlado has devoted special attention to the organization of work and the development of organizational structures, and the Special Investigations Unit is a structure that he personally developed and established with the help of his colleagues.

For his professional work and contribution, he has received several awards from investigation partners: Recognition from the European Central Bank for the successful implementation and completion of the 2007 euro counterfeiting investigation; Bronze Medal for Cooperation and Strengthening Security from the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia, 2000; Recognition from the Republic of France, Ministry of Defence, Gendarmerie, 2009, Banja Luka; Recognition from the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria, Criminal Police of the Republic of Austria, October 2010, Sarajevo; and Recognition from the Ministry of Justice for partnership and promotion of the police profession and the rule of law, ICTAP Bosnia and Herzegovina, United States of America, 2016.

Vlado is also a permanent court expert in the fields of criminalistics and forensic science.

He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and regularly participates in international scientific conferences in the fields of law and security.
