Prof. Dr Miroslav Mitrović is an Associate Professor engaged across several faculties and universities and a Research Associate with a long professional background in security studies, strategic analysis, defence diplomacy, and academic research. His career combines more than three decades of experience in the armed forces, the Ministry of Defence, international defence representation, and research leadership.

He specializes in intelligence and security analysis, hybrid warfare, strategic communication, geopolitical forecasting, national and international security, influence operations, and the security implications of emerging technologies. His analytical approach is focused on strategic assessments, scenario development, early-warning indicators, and decision-making under uncertainty.

He previously served as Head of Research Projects in Defence and Security at the Institute for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and as Defence Attaché of the Republic of Serbia in Bulgaria. He currently acts as Senior Consultant for strategic projects and communication at Vlatacom Institute, contributing to security-related organisational, analytical, and high-technology initiatives.

Prof. Mitrović led or coordinated major research projects including Hybrid Warfare – Experiences and Perspectives, Security Trends of Influence on Serbia’s National Security until 2030, and Security and Defence Aspects of Serbia’s EU Accession. He has lectured and held academic engagements at several faculties and universities, including the Military Academy of the University of Defence, ECPD – UN University for Peace, Ludovika University of Public Service, and the Defence University in Slovakia. His selected recent publications include Hybrid Threat Assessment Through Security Analytics, Invisible Fronts: Hybrid Warfare and the Future of Conflict, and Innovating Strategy: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Management.
