Prof. dr hab. Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek is a Professor of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, Vice-President for Research at the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and Chair of the Committee of Political Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her research and professional activities focus on public administration, strategic governance, civil service, public sector ethics, digital transformation, and national and internal security. She combines extensive academic expertise with high-level experience in public administration and science policy.
Her research examines the role of public institutions in ensuring democratic governance, state resilience, and security in times of crisis. She has published extensively on public administration, civil service, public ethics, internal and national security, technological transformation, and evidence-based policymaking. She has also led and coordinated numerous national and international research and innovation projects, including initiatives funded under Horizon Europe and other European programmes, addressing public governance, technological foresight, and resilience.
Prof. Itrich-Drabarek is the author or editor of around 150 scientific publications in Polish and English, including works published by Routledge, Palgrave, Peter Lang, and Edward Elgar. Her current interests include governance and security, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in the public sector, strategic forecasting, and the role of public institutions in addressing contemporary societal and security challenges.
