Prof dr Thomas Wegner Friis, INIS’s Senior Research Fellow, had inspiring presentations on the postwar period and lively discussions about future remembrance culture. In the light of current events, this was a significant event. Rector Jens Ringsmose opened the conference by demonstrating the Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark as a central scientific player in the border region and beyond. Having a strong SDU Delegation with Katarzyna Stoklosa chairing, Sønderborg colleague Caroline E. Weber, Therkel Stræde, Anne Rheder Andersen, and Katja Højgaard Petersen was excellent.
