The Institute for National and International Security (INIS) is proud to highlight Professor Jagannath Panda, Senior Research Fellow of INIS and Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian & Indo-Pacific Affairs at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP), Sweden, ‘s participation in the distinguished international event “China Challenges and the Future of the Indo-Pacific.”

The event, hosted by Seikei University in Japan with the support of the Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS) and the Japan Association of Global Governance (JAGG), brought together leading experts in international relations and security studies.

Professor Panda shared insights on China’s challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, underlining the importance of cooperation between regional actors and global partners. He joined the panel alongside Professor Rory Medcalf AM of the Australian National University, with Ambassador Reiichiro Takahashi as moderator.

INIS thanks Professor Kei Hakata and colleagues from Seikei University, YCAPS, and JAGG for the excellent organization and fruitful collaboration.

This event marks a significant contribution to strengthening international cooperation and advancing the concept of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP), with INIS actively engaged through the expertise of its Senior Research Fellows.
