Dr Yiorghos Leventis, Founder & Director of the International Security Forum, Cyprus, and Senior Research Fellow of INIS, participated upon invitation in the 14th Consultative Meeting of the EU Non-Proliferation & Disarmament Consortium held in Brussels on Tuesday, the 16th, and on Friday, the 19th of September 2025.
The two-day closed-door discussion, attended by around sixty experts from around the globe, covered the following eight topics:
1. Missile Defence & Strategic Risk Reduction
2. Space Challenges
3. Tensions Rise in South Asia
4. The Challenge of Diversion & Illicit Trafficking of Conventional Weapons in Syria
5. Current Trends on Global Arms Markets
6. Militarisation of dual-use & controlled items
7. Proliferation & control of UAVs
8. Military Use of New Technologies: the Quantum Case.
This 14th consultative meeting of experts of the EUNPDC was funded by the European Union. European External Action Service officials took notes on the proceedings.
