The conference “Crisis of the modern international security system: the Ukrainian peace formula” was held at the University. 21. In April 2023, the 5th International Scientific Conference “Crisis of the Contemporary International Security System: Ukrainian Peace Formula” was held at the Faculty of International Relations of the Ivan Franko National University.

The event was organized by Ivan Frank National University from Lviv, the Center for International Security and Partnership, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the State Academy of Applied Sciences from Peremišlji, Institute for National and International Security (Serbia), NATO Information and Documentation Center.
The participants of the international conference were scientists and professors of higher education and scientific research institutions, employees of state administration bodies and local self-governments of Ukraine and other countries, young scientists, postgraduates, students who are actively engaged in scientific research in the fields of political, economic, legal, sociological, historical science and security sciences.
It should be noted that at the opening of the conference, as a sign of common interests and expressing the desire to expand and strengthen the partnership, the Faculty of International Relations of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the Institute of National and International Security signed a Cooperation Agreement. By the way, colleagues from Serbia presented recognitions to Rector Volodymyr Melnik, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Markián Malski and Head of the Chair of International Communications and Digital Diplomacy Roman Vovko, while Volodimir Petrovič expressed his gratitude to foreign partners for their significant contribution to the development of academic cooperation in the field of international security.
After the welcoming speeches, the plenary session of the conference began, during which the director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center Vineta Kljajna gave a presentation on “NATO and Euro-Atlantic security”, and the director of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University, Professor Adrian Tiškević, analyzed the proposals of Vladimir Zelenski and Xi Jinping, assessing whether they will be an opportunity for just peace or just the specter of a long-term crisis. Also, during the discussion, the director of the Institute for National and International Security, Professor Darko Trifunović, gave a presentation “The Hybrid War of Russia against Serbia with Consequences for Southeast Europe”, while the head of the Department of International Communications and Digital Diplomacy of the Ivan Franko National University, Roman Vovk, explained the meaning of the Ukrainian peace formulas as a way to strengthen Ukraine’s national resilience.
The conference continued in sections, where the participants had the opportunity to exchange their ideas, opinions and efforts regarding the theoretical foundations of international relations and the security system, as well as applied aspects of international cooperation in the field of security. During fruitful discussions and active work, the participants covered a number of important topics, including regional security in new geopolitical concepts, theoretical foundations of international relations and security systems, problems of international security in the Central-Eastern Europe region, regional security: international legal aspects, international relations in in crisis conditions: socio-economic aspects, digital diplomacy in conditions of transformation of the system of international relations.
