Belgrade, 30 October 20
On 30 October 2025, the Faculty of Engineering Management (FIM) hosted the public defence of the doctoral dissertation by Mr Ibrahim Ali Mohamed Alhudaidi entitled “The Integration of Artificial Intelligence Systems in Governments to Assist Strategic Decisions”.
We are pleased to note that INIS actively participates in the teaching and examination process at FIM, including doctoral defences. In this instance, our Senior Research Fellow Prof. Dr Darko Trifunović served as an external member of the examination committee.
This milestone demonstrates the deepening partnership between INIS and FIM, combining rigorous academic research in engineering & management with the Institute’s expertise in national and international security systems. Through this collaboration, INIS helps to bridge the fields of industrial engineering/engineering management and strategic security decision-making — contributing to curriculum delivery, supervisory roles and evaluation of doctoral candidates.
The cooperation between INIS and FIM includes the following key elements:
- Joint teaching involvement: INIS experts contribute to lectures, seminars and research modules within FIM’s doctoral programme, especially in domains such as strategic security systems, Industry 4.0, AI in governance, risk and resilience.
- Examination and dissertation support: INIS provides reviewers and external members for doctoral defences, ensuring alignment with global research best practices and security-relevant themes.
- Research synergy: The collaboration opens avenues for joint research, publications, student mentorship and conference activities, reinforcing both institutions’ profiles in engineering, management and security.
The successful completion of Mr Alhudaidi’s defence is a testament to the effective teamwork between FIM’s academic leadership and INIS’s applied security research orientation. We congratulate Dr Alhudaidi on earning his PhD in Industrial Engineering/Engineering Management and look forward to his contributions in the field. fim.edu.rs
