The Institute for National and International Security (INIS) and the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, have signed a Cooperation Agreement to establish an institutional framework for long-term academic, scientific, and professional-technical cooperation between the two institutions.
The Agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Mladen Milošević, Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, and Prof. Dr. Darko Trifunović, Director of the INIS – Institute for National and International Security.
The cooperation encompasses joint activities in education, scientific research, and professional development, as well as collaboration in international academic and research programs, including ERASMUS+, CEEPUS, and other bilateral and multilateral initiatives. Particular emphasis is placed on the development and implementation of joint projects, the exchange of academic staff, researchers, and students, the organization of conferences, round tables, workshops, and the preparation of joint publications.
INIS – Institute for National and International Security is an independent research, analytical, and educational institute based in Belgrade, focused on national and international security, intelligence and security studies, hybrid threats, critical infrastructure protection, and contemporary global security challenges. INIS originated in the academic and research environment of the Faculty of Security Studies and, in 2018, became an independent academic, scientific, and educational institution. A core mission of INIS is to develop, affirm, and promote Security Science as a distinct, interdisciplinary scientific field through research, publications, education, and broad international academic cooperation.
The Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, represents the central academic and scientific institution in the Republic of Serbia in the field of security studies, with a key role in educating professionals for the security sector and in advancing scientific research, theory, and practice of security at the national, regional, and international levels.
By signing this Agreement, both institutions further strengthen their institutional capacity and reaffirm their commitment to cooperation in education, scientific research, and international academic mobility.
