Announcement of the International Conference in Brussels

The international conference AFCEA Europe TechNet International 2026 will take place on 9–10 June 2026 at the Event Lounge in Brussels under the theme:

“Redefining Defence in the Digital Age: Innovation as a Force Multiplier”

The conference will gather senior military officials, government representatives, defence industry leaders, researchers, and security experts to discuss the transformation of modern defence systems in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, cyber capabilities, autonomous systems, and advanced C4ISR technologies.

Special attention should be given to the Conference Chairman, Massimo Esposito. Rear Admiral (Ret.) Massimo Esposito is currently serving as Vice President of AFCEA International, General Manager of AFCEA Europe, and Senior Research Fellow of INIS, bringing extensive strategic, operational, and technological expertise to one of the most important European defence and security conferences dedicated to digital transformation and innovation in defence.

As the contemporary battlespace rapidly evolves, technological innovation increasingly determines operational effectiveness, situational awareness, strategic decision-making, logistics optimisation, and force readiness across multi-domain environments. The conference will therefore focus on how emerging technologies are redefining military operations and strengthening joint and coalition capabilities in contested operational spaces.

Over the course of two days, participants will examine key strategic and operational challenges including interoperability, doctrine adaptation, digital transformation, information dominance, and data integration. Particular attention will be dedicated to the role of innovation as a force multiplier in future defence and security architectures.

The event will feature distinguished speakers and experts from across the defence, security, technological, and academic sectors, offering forward-looking perspectives on the future of defence in the digital age.
