Dr Steven Oluic
Lt. Col. Steven Oluic, PhD, is a retired U.S. Army officer with over 27 years of military service, ten of which were overseas. Dr. Oluic was an Associate Professor of Geography and subsequently the Assistant Dean of Strategy & Policy at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.
Upon retirement he served as the Dean of Arts & Sciences at an Ohio College. He has numerous publications, including a book, text chapters, and journal articles. Dr. Oluic received a Fulbright Award in 2017 and traveled to Russia as part of an education exchange. He is the recipient of many research and travel grants and received the Association of American Geographers “George & Viola Hoffman National Award” for research in Eastern Europe in 2004. Dr. Oluic’s research interests are varied, but his specific interests revolve around Yugoslavia and the current successor states - including Balkan Geopolitics, radicalism in the Balkans & Balkan Diaspora in the United States, and boundaries.
