About INIS

 Institute for National and International Security – INIS (hereinafter: Institute) as one of the leading and fastest growing scientific academic institutions in the field of Security Science in Europe. The Institute currently has over 120 members, eminent experts of various profiles from more than 35 countries of the world who integrate their competences in the form of knowledge, attitudes, skills and experience in relation to coordination in the following areas: Security, conflict theory and geopolitics, intelligence and counter-intelligence services , hybrid warfare, radicalization and de-radicalization, nuclear security, critical infrastructure, cyber security (deep internet search), object and face detection software, secure communication software, etc. Aggregate IMPACT FACTOR of members Institute is many times higher than the impact factor of all faculties and institutes of the DHS field in the Republic of Serbia.

The Institute is a scientific society with the aim of promoting the science of security, as such it was recognized by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, with a letter from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (registration number: 451-03-2481/2019-14), also the Institute has an exclusive contract with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in the form of “scientific diplomacy“. OID E10352545 is the number of the Institute INIS (Organization ID (OID) is the unique identifier of the institution used for participation in Erasmus+ projects).

 Special emphasis is placed on “SECURITY SCIENCE JOURNAL”, an international peer-reviewed interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary open-access journal published by the Institute for National and International Security INIS from Serbia, the Europe Institute – Bar-Ilan University from Israel, the Research Institute for European and American Studies – “Riaes” from Greece and Association Sveti Đorđe – National Security and Future from Croatia. “SSJ” is the first of its kind in the world with the aim of proving that security is a science with its general and specific methods and theories on which security science is based.   The Institute is the owner of a unique accredited Program, both in the country and in the region, a training Program on the functioning of the National Security System, which consists of five supporting modules.
1. Security science, security system, propaganda and psychological operations against the civilian population and their impact on national security;
2. The place and role of the Army in the national security system;
3. The place and role of the Military Intelligence Agency and the Military Security Agency in the national security system;
4. The place and role of the Security and Information Agency in the national security system;
5. Place and role of the police in the national security system;
The accreditation procedure was carried out in cooperation with the Qualifications Agency (AZK) of the Republic of Serbia, where the Institute received the status of publicly recognized organizer of adult education activities (decision number 62-10/ 2023/4).

INIS gathers academicians, researchers, and scholars to share information and expertise through research papers, situation reports, and academic publications for worldwide distribution. It is important to underline that INIS administers the largest public domain research database on terrorism and organized crimes. The TOC-search (Terrorist and Organized Criminal Search DataBase) is a dynamic database that offers comprehensive information on global terrorist networks and helps researchers, analysts, students, and others work to prevent terrorism. INIS’s work and influence as a think-tank was recognized in the National and International frame, which resulted that INIS is only one of his kind which signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute for National and International Security in the area of scientific diplomacy.

The Institute for National and International Security (INIS) aims to independently or in cooperation with other higher educational and scientific-research institutions, state bodies, public institutions, enterprises, civil society organizations, organize and conduct academic and scientific-research, activities in the field of National and International Security. In order to better understand the phenomena and the process in the field of security, it is necessary to collect new knowledge in this field, to constantly carry out the evaluation process, and to harmonize theory and practice to acquire theoretical knowledge and skills in practical application.
