She is a member of the Commission of Balkan Studies Polish Academy of Sciences and a member of International Scientific Council of “The Journal of Slavic Military Studies” (USA). Author of mongraphs: Serbian-Albanian conflict of Kosovo in 20th century. Conditioning – course – consequences; South Slavonic mosaic. Geographical and political characteristics of post Yugoslavian States (co-author: A. Krzak); Bosnia and Herzegovina: determinants of history. Between Serbs, Croats and Muslim supremacy. Area of scientific interests includes the political history of the Balkans, polemology, geopolitics, ethnic conflicts, terrorism, security studies. Danuta Gibas-Krzak won competitions for Balkan scientists in Poland (2016 – 2017).
