Dr Velimir Rakočević
He is president of Montenegrin Board of Criminalistics.He was born on October 12th, 1963 in BijeloPolje where he finished primary school and Gymnasium with an MBA distinction. He graduated from Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philosophy and High Education of Interior Affairs (VŠUP). He finished master studies at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade and in 1999 he defended master thesis titled ”Role of the Institutions of Interior Affairs in the Process of Providing Evidences for Criminal Procedures”. He completed doctoral studies at The Faculty of Law in Belgrade in 2003 by defending doctoral thesis titled “Detection and Suppression of Drugs Abuse”. During the period from 1987 until 2006 year he worked for Ministry of Interior, Republic of Montenegro in the sector of Criminalistics and at the Institute for Criminal Sanctions as inspector and chief. From 2003 until 2006 he was employed as a specialist for practice in teaching Criminology and Penology and Criminalistics at the Faculty of Law, University of Montenegro. In 2006 he was awarded title of docent for the following subjects: Criminology, Criminalistics, Penology and Social Pathology at the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Political Sciences in Podgorica. In 2011 he was awarded title of Associate Professor for subjects: Criminal Law- special part, Criminology, Criminalistics, Penology and Social Pathology at the Faculty of Law and FPS in Podgorica. In 2017 he was assigned title of University Professor for Criminal Law group of subjects. During his work at the Faculty of Law he was founder and coordinator of the study program for Security and Criminalistics, coordinator of the specialist studies for Suppression of the Modern Criminal Affairs and coordinator for specialist studies of the Criminal Law department. He published eight monographs, three books and about eighty scientific and specialist works.
